SAC Elections

June 10th is election day at FJB.  Candidates for Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister will have an opportunity to address the entire student body during an assembly period 2.  Candidates for grade 12 representatives will have the opportunity to introduce themselves.  Voting will take place in grade 9 to 11 classes period 3 that day and students must be present to vote.  If students are on field trip June 10th they can see Ms Zanet in guidance for advance polling that morning only. Note that no voting will take place during period 4 or prior to June 10th.

Lent

Some may ask what is Lent and why do we celebrate it each year? Lent is the 40 day time period before Easter, the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. During these 40 days we reflect of our past year and consider what we can do as Catholics to bring ourselves closer to God. During these 40 days, we are encouraged to give something up or bring a new positive practice into our lives. What we choose to do, should bring us closer to God. There are three key points to Lent, PRAYER, FASTING and ALMSGIVING. Give more of your time to God this Lent and help one another out. Let God's love of you, shine this Lent.

Advent, at its core, is about getting ready to encounter Jesus at Christmas. Your journey to that encounter begins with recongnizing the mercy of God. This Advent, help us to remember that we aren't all perfect and that we need your mercy in our lives. This Advent, take some time to reflect on your personal relationship with God. Semi-Formal: A Winter Wonderland

The FJB semi-formal was a great success.  The banquet hall was transformed into a winter wonderland.  Those who attended enjoyed a night of dancing and dining.  When we're dressed up who can pass up an opportunity to take photographs with friends?🎩
