Some may ask what is Lent and why do we celebrate it each year? Lent is the 40 day time period before Easter, the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. During these 40 days we reflect of our past year and consider what we can do as Catholics to bring ourselves closer to God. During these 40 days, we are encouraged to give something up or bring a new positive practice into our lives. What we choose to do, should bring us closer to God. There are three key points to Lent, PRAYER, FASTING and ALMSGIVING. Give more of your time to God this Lent and help one another out. Let God's love of you, shine this Lent.
